Default low RE tax areas near Milford?

I sold my house in NYC, am building one in Norwalk, CT and now I'm planning my next move. Most of my peeps are in NYC so I'm not quite ready to break my ties with the area. I want to be within 2hrs MOL. Stroudsburg is closer but Milford sounds attractive to me because it's relatively artsy-fartsy with some cultural life besides truck pulls, a decent gay population and lots of nature which I love. I don't want to live in town but within a 15 min max commute. Of course I want to minimize taxes so I'm wondering if there's an especially low tax area near Milford. Thanks.

Shohola isn't bad. Just northwest of Milford..very rural. Quite a few houses for sale.
