Looking to move to West Chester, PA
Hello all:
My husband and I are looking for any information anyone can supply about West Chester, PA. We are looking for area information including things to do, housing, employment, and an overall view of the city. We are looking to move there from Florida to finish raising our two daughter's, who will be teenager's next year. The hurricane's in Florida have really put us through alot in the last two years, and our area is becoming overrun with drugs and crime. We are looking to live in a place that has four seasons, and is country but close to the city. Any information will help. Thank you,
D. Chapman

I'm sorry things are not working out in flordia. [moderator CUT] West Chester is a great town, your with in commuting distance of Philadelphia and South Jersey and several other smaller cities in PA so the job market is modest. [moderator CUT]
Thank You,
Nick Rolland

I have lived both in South Flroida, Wellington and West Chester PA, Green Hill Road! I think you will love West Chester. You should be able to get alot more home in West Chester for your money than you did in Florida. The schools are great and the people are friendly. Truthfully, there is not a whole lot to do in West Chester itself, but if you are willing to take short drives, there are plenty of great day trips; Hershey park, Amish Country, Jersey Coast, Philly, plenty of different fruit festivals which can be alot of fun. There is a nearby community that has an outragious Mushroom festival that you may enjoy. You will also be only a short drive from Washington DC. Of course Philly will be closer.
I don't think you will have trouble getting work close to West Chester, but many of the resident yuppies (lawyers mostly) take the amtrack to Philly every day. It is really not a bad way to travel.
Hope I have ben helpful.

west chester is excellant area.
West Chester is a great area to live in, you will enjoy it. It is a colonial town and is a very old town. There is plenty of things to do in and around West Chester. The job market is very good as well. Its a 30 minute train ride to philadelphia where there are a ton of jobs. Also there are many business firms locally as well. West Chester is also a college town, it houses a college with about 8,000 students or so. The 2nds largest mall in America, The King of Prussia mall is just 20 minutes away and Atlantic City and other seaside towns in NJ,DE MD are a little over an hour away. The schools are great two they will be opening a Brand New third high school in the fall. The people in the area are of a mix of urban and surburban life, while west chester, and chester county itself is home to some of the richest people in the arae. (Chester County is the Richest County in the State). I love talkin about the area and would love to answer any specific questions you might have.
