I am afraid you are confusing guns and bullets. Gun is the object that stays in your hands. Bullet leaves the gun and hits the game. Just choose the right bullet.

There are many ways for a business to make a social statement. Some statements put the business at peril. It is there right to run the business as they see fit, I think a business should be just that and leave the social work to non business entities. They could feature safety or training or so many good things.

I am quite pleased that Reed Exhibitions is having a big backlash due to their stupidity.
Banning certain guns from the outdoor show for the type of person that would go to such a show is like taking steak off the menu at Ruths Chris Steakhouse because someone choked and died on a piece of steak meat.

This should send a message to Reed Exhibitions to think twice before succumbing to the media's flavor of the day.

I confess to little knowledge on types of bullets, but I do know the difference between a bullet and a gun, but I can see how my typo may give you that impression.

I am sorry but he context was very clear. You said hunting with semi-automatic weapons leaves bullet fragments in the deer! No amount of proofing is going to fix it.

Obviously I don't know enough about this subject to debate it and I don't want to continue with off topic talk that hi-jacks the thread. Let's get back to the OP please.

One of the amendments in the Constitution guarantees our right to freedom of speech and hence who we associate with. I'm glad companies have chosen not to associate themselves with such misinformed and anti gun promoters. There are other shows and other places and lets not give money to those that skim gun owners and manufacturers for money via this show but are actually anti gun.

It was just a stupid stupid thing to do. With gun buyers going crazy they could have given the show participants all the business they could want and then some. Now the reed bozos have screweed so many vendors and chased away patrons.
They need to issue a recant ASAP and invite all the gun companies back and waive their participation fee as an apology.

The show is "postponed".

Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles (also called ARs) at the event. The show was scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, PA.

“Our original decision not to include certain products in the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show this year was made in order to preserve the event’s historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions enjoyed by American families,” said Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas. “In the current climate, we felt that the presence of MSRs would distract from the theme of hunting and fishing, disrupting the broader experience of our guests. This was intended simply as a product decision, of the type event organizers need to make every day.
