I will be moving to York, PA in a week or so with my boyfriend. We are both in our late 20's, no kids.

Does anyone know anything about these apartments?

Camelot Arms

Hudson Park Towers

Suburban Park Apartments

Village East

I know about Camelot Arms, Suburban Park, and Village East. PM me with what you are looking for, where you'll be working, and I'll give you some suggestions of where you might want to look.

Why PM only? Someone else could be interested in that information as well

Camelot Arms would be my first choice~Suburban Park and Village East look as though they are in great locations, but there have been numerous incidents there (in recent years) that may make it a not so pleasant lifestyle/living experience for a couple in their late 20's. I don't know anything about Hudson Towers, except that the location wouldn't be desirable to me.

If you want to be close to the city, but still in a little Suburbia, with access to grocery stores, decent restaurants, in a safe area, there are other complexes areas I would advise. Often, when you promote certain complexes the moderator's come on and clip those areas; thus the suggestion to PM me.

You may want to look around the Carlisle Road area, so that you don't have to drive the hectic Route 30 traffic in the AM/PM. Anything west of the fairgrounds, further out West Market Street or in around Route 74/Carlisle Road, near West York High School or going up into Shiloh, around the West Manchester Mall~all would be safe locations with great back roads to stores, malls, fitness centers, and to the city itself for nightlife.

Where are all of these places in relation to the paper mill? I've heard it smells.

LOL, the infamous papermill "smell". Its the sulfur smell the plant "sometimes" gives off (which is located in Spring Grove, not West York), and by sometimes I mean hardly ever.

15 years ago you maybe had to deal with it in the actual town, and the smell would sometimes drift into and around parts of the county (which we're talking it would maybe last an hour or two). But now its hardly ever. I live in West York area and I get the smell maybe three times a year that lasts for maybe 30 mins at the most each time.

The "smell" is from a long gone era that people for some reason still bring up, anyone moving to the area now would probably not even know it.

I forgot about the "smell"~since it's so rare any more. When we moved there in 1989 it would only happen maybe 2x year (I lived on the east side). It's in Spring Grove, they've controlled the stink in the last 2 decades. Now you only smell cookies from Stauffer's on the good days!
