Transfer Certificate of Car Title/ Selling out of State Vehicle in Pennsylvania.

1. Vehicle registered in Florida (FL), with a FL license plate.
2. Vehicle insured in Virginia (VA).
3. Owner #1 (John), has a FL drivers license, with a Pennsylvania address on the license.
4. Owner #2 (Jane), has a VA drivers license, with a VA address on the license.
5. John/ Jane, are Son/ Mother.

Vehicle is 100%/fully paid for, and the vehicle title is in our possession. A FL title, with both John and Jane's names included under "Registered Owner." The registered address (an old address) for the title is a North Carolina (NC) address.

6. Both John/ Jane live in the same current household in Pennsylvania (PA), both moved to PA roughly seven months ago.
7. Both John/ Jane agree they would like to sell the vehicle, and they have a potential buyer in PA.

What are the proper steps to sell the vehicle to the potential buyer, along with the transfer of the vehicles title?

Hate to say this, but you've got a problem because you were supposed to get a Pennsylvania title for the vehicle within 20 days of moving to Pennsylvania, and you were supposed to get a Pennsylvania drivers license within 60 days of moving to Pennsylvania.

I believe you'll have to do both of those things and pay whatever penalties before you'll be able to sell the car.

But of course I don't know for sure because I'm not an expert on that. I've only moved to PA once.

Oh, and you should call the insurance company to get the insurance transferred to Pennsylvania too. In fact, it appears that you have to get the PA Drivers License and get the insurance transferred to Pennsylvania prior to getting the vehicle title and license plate transferred to Pennsylvania.

Maybe there's a way around all this, especially if you still have a residency in the other state that is your "official" residency.
