hi all! we are a young couple from new jersey with a growing toddler son. My husband will be working in west chester. Can anyone advised us of any new development in the area? we want to purchase a new home that has a short commute to west chester? and good school district for our growing family? and is closed to malls, target, and pharmacies. I know its a lot but hey, its going to be a life decision, so good choices should be there right? any suggestions?

A lot of new developments popping up in the Chester Springs area. Right off of Route 100 north of Exton. Shouldn't be a bad commute to West Chester - near lots of retail

West Chester is surrounded by new housing developments. The immediate area surrounding West Chester is big $$$$ Birmingham Twp,Pocopson,Thornbury,Edgmont,Willistown.

Some better bargains but still real nice areas.

Garnet Valley
Chadds Ford
Westtown
Downingtown
Exton
Chester Springs

Downingtown probably the best bargain.

Just to clarify its Chester County. The town of West Chester is the county seat of Chester County.

Just to add you will not be far from the King of Prussia Mall (the second largest mall in the country - only the Mall of America is larger) and the Exton Square Mall.

King of Prussia Mall

Exton Square

This is a little out of your way but Blue Ball has a new housing development. Townhouses and singles. It starts from the low to mid 200s. It's got a main line sounding name, Cheltenham, Chadsford north or something. Honeybrook also has newer developments. You'd have to drive maybe 20 to 30 minutes but you'd be surrounded by shopping in 3 directions, north( Wyomissing), east( Exton) and west( Lancaster).
