Doylestown is a mostly-upscale area with an excellent school district (Central Bucks). Doylestown Borough is the county seat - the downtown area is very walkable, and full of interesting shops, etc. Doylestown Township is rural/suburban, with many newer housing developments. Highway access is a limited, as there aren't any direct connections to the interstate system. It's about 20-30 minutes drive south to get to the Pennsylvania Turnpike on congested Route 611.
