Default Media, PA: Should I move here???

I just received a job offer, which would require me to move to Media or the surrounding area. I've read the towns government website, and was hoping to get some personal feelings (both pro and con) from residents or people familiar with the area, this would really help me get an idea of the local flavor. This is a big move and I want to make sure it's what would be best for my wife and eight year old. Some things I'm very interested in are:
-The quality of schools in the area (elementary and High school)
-Community Pride and civic mindedness (how loyal are people to their home town)
-What are commutes like to and from media
These and any other comments that would paint a picture of Media will be greatly appreciated

I work as a realtor in the area and have lived in the havertown, newtown square area for over 40 years. Media is a cool little town. its the heart of delaware county law, county courthouse, lots of law offices. But it also has lots of little restaurants and bars. Very popular place to go out and about. the prices in the heart of media are a bit high. I would suggest looking at havertown because the schools are excellent there and the housing prices are better. Havertown also has great civic pride and it's about 15 min to media. newtown square is very nice the taxes are probably the best there compared to everywhere else in delaware county and it's about 5 min to media. Also there is radnor township pricey but great schools also.

Media has an excellent school district, and I would not hesitiate to move there. You may want to consider Middletown (also in the same school district), and a place where you can stretch your feet. The housing in Middletown also varies highly, so you can find something to suit your budget. There's a train station, the Elwyn, which can take you into Philly if need be. Middletown is the home of Linvilla Orchards which you can read about on the web - WONDERFUL place for family outings!

Media

When I think Media -- I think Newtown Square. Close proximity and wide range of properties based on your budget. Its a nice town but why do I always find myself travelling elsewhere to do or get something. I hate the jams that Rt 1 brings Rt 252 is sometimes as bad but I think my commute down 252 across Rt 3 and down past the Community College is less cumbersome than in a traffic jam for 15 minutes at the Media exit of Rt 1.
Don't miss a show at the Media Theater -- its antiquity is only surpassed by a pretty fine performance -- No I don't work there.

Default THANKS to ALL

I want to thank all of you for the input, I recently visited family in New England and on my way through PA I stopped for dinner in Media; I was very impressed.

Default oh and...

What about surrounding areas, the rest of Deleware county? Havertown and Middletown were mentioned, any other locations I should consider looking into.

My roommate I had for all 4 years in college is from Media. I remember him saying that it's very boring, typical suburban town with good schools.

Cool Adding this late, but....

I'm shocked that there aren't more positive comments about Media .

I moved to Media last fall and I am about as happy as I can be!
If you get restless, Philly is a short drive away and the
Airport is about 13 minutes by car! Public transport is great
and there's a big beautiful state park around the corner.
Great town.
