Default Poker games in Union, Snyder, or Northumberland counties?

Hello all! I did a serch for poker games and didn't come up with anything so hoping this hasn't been asked/posted/debated before. I'm looking to find a friendly group of people in either Snyder, Northumberland, or Union counties for No Limit Texas Hold 'Em tourny type nights. I have been searching for games but have had a difficult time. I played at Big Andy's in Milton and a few other bars but generally would like to find a home environment to play. I did find a home game about six months ago but wasn't the greatest atmosphere to play. I have a great love for the game of poker and would like to find others that enjoy to play.

I'll be honest in that I have two social limitations that sometimes don't go over well with some people. I can't shuffle well and never could (you would think all those years of college and drinking games would have helped but it didn't!). I also have some type of issue with numbers as I get chip amounts confused (I'm slightly dyslexic so that may factor into things). I do well once I get acquainted with the play and chips though. Other that that I'm a very normal person

I'm a very polite person and would be a great addition to a homegame. I don't play reckless and have a good understanding of the game. I do well usually when I have the chance to play (I've finished in the top five a few times in limited play at the bars). My email is Stellarpulse@yahoo.com if anybody would be interested in adding somebody to their homegames or would have any suggestions of places to check out.

Meetup.com may have a group near you, you would just type in your zip and then 'poker' and it should bring up a group in your area (hopefully), you may have to play around with it a bit but it's a good way of connection people with others of similar interests. Good luck!

I've tried the meetup.com website but the closest games are about a hour away although I'm thinking of breaking down and making the trip if I can't find something more local. There does seem to be interest with some local folks but there doesn't seem to be a way to contact them through the website. Wish I could set up a game at my house but it wouldn't work out right now. Maybe I need to scope the website out more to see if there are any ways to contact individuals who have an interest that are local. Thanks for the suggestion as it's appreciated

Maybe your local high school (nite classes) has an adult card game class and possibly the teacher there would have connections - some of the classes start in Oct and Feb. though (they offer crafts, foreign languages and a huge variety of subjects). ANother thought, maybe a large senior center might be in need of a poker player (not talking nursing home but a youngish over-55 residential place where the people are independent and come / go as they like and would be open to socializing with people from the area but not necessarily living right in their community).

I wonder if the local fire companies would have anything. I know most have pool tournaments but I'm not sure about poker playing. They have gambling, so it might be worth a phone call to Hummels Wharf and Shamokin Dam. I'm not sure if DH&L has much of a social club any more.
