Pennsylvania will be getting hit with some snow, ice and rain today and tonight. The snow, 1-3 inches, is a nonfactor. It is the ice that could be a problem.
Let us know how it is in your area.
At almost 8:30 A.M. in Lehigh County, it is doing nothing. It is just cloudy and cold.

Warwick? Celine?

Yeah, this standard snowstorm naming thing is a bit ridiculous.

A W. PA accuweather "winter weather advisory" included below.

From the advisory, my thoughts. A trace of ice and 1-2" of snow constitute an issue??? It's December in PA. This should be considered a daily forecast.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST MONDAY...
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...AROUND A TRACE.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 2 INCHES.
* PERIOD OF MOST INTENSE SNOW...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL HAS ENDED.
* PERIOD OF MOST INTENSE ICE...THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT IN LIGHT FREEZING RAIN.
* ICE ENDING...LATE TONIGHT.

If anyone watched the Eagles game, you saw that it was a blizzard in Philly. During the game, they got around 8 inches of snow.
Here, in Lehigh County, it didn't start until much later. It's dark now but I guess that it is snowing or the ice is falling.

When did they start naming winter storms?.... i think that's kinda ridiculous. I think they do that just for dramatic effect to make it sound worse than it really is.

The Weather Channel started it and you are correct, can't market gloom and doom as easily without a name.

Just a dusting here near Wilkes Barre.
