My husband and I are from Northeast Pa and moved down south about 3 years ago we are planning to move to the Lebanon Pa area really soon
I don't know much about the area but we would like to buy a house there I was told not to buy one in the city of Lebanon so I was hoping someone could give me info about towns around the city...
We have children so I need a place with a good school district and I would like to live in a low crime rual area if you know anything about this area could you fill me in?

Input on Lebanon, PA
I grew up in Lebanon. Do not buy in the city. It has gone downhill since my youth 40 yrs. ago. Cleona, Annville, Hershey (expensive), or north of Lebanon out Rt. 72. There are some housing developments just north of the city. Don't know about school districts. You can go on to Lebanon Daily News at ldnews.com to read about crime reports. I think the city has a drug issue.

My friend lives in Lebanon - in a beautiful new housing development with cows behind her house. She has three kids and is very pleased with the schools. Her husband works at Hershey, and they used to live in Hershey proper, but are happier in the suburbs of Lebanon. Again, her house is gorgeous and I think she paid a decent price for it (2800 sq ft, 3 car garage for about $400k).

There are some nice small towns along 422 east of Lebanon, (Myerstown) and western Berks( Wernersville, Robesonia, Womelsdorf). Very scenic area with farms, open wooded space and older homes along with some new upscale housing developments.

Don't rule out rural Southern Schuylkill County as well. You might want to check into Pine Grove, for example, which isn't very far at all from Lebanon. Good luck!

The southern area of Lebanon County, just north of Lancaster County, has a very good school district. Cedar Crest School District, which is located there, will put you within a close proximity to the PA Turnpike if you need quick access to points east and west. You are close to shopping centers. And there are a lot of newer developments if you like new construction. If not, there are a number of older, wooded areas available as well.
