Okay I have no problem with those boundaries and there is still a GDP recovery issue in large swathes of NWPA, but the main population centers (Erie, Crawford, and Mercer counties) seem to have recovered according to the map posted earlier.

As a native of Elk... we occassionally lump ourselves in with NWPA... but the Northcentral PA identity is much stronger as we are very far away from Erie and quite a distinct region of unpopulated forests. Northcentral along with the newly branded "Pennsylvania Wilds" are the dominant regional identities... (McKean, Potter, etc. also identify as "The Northern Tier"... though that regional identifier dissipates somewhere between Johnsonburg and Ridgway/St. Marys.)
