Default The Raven Night Club...near Harrisburg 1966ish

Does anyone remember this venue? It was built to look like a castle. I remember seeing Little Anthony and the Imperials there.

I'm curious about what happened to it and exactly where it was located.

Hope there are some folks out there as old as I.

I have a mint copy of this 45 on the Mala label as well as a mint copy of their minor hit on the Brunswick label called "Karate Boogaloo" b/w "Mumble Shingaling." It's another great one!

I just moved to Harrisburg on Friday with my fiance Christine. We came from NYC and are looking for jobs as well as any 50's/ 60's/ 70's area nightclubs, bars or restaurants to put on some very sophistacted (and severely hip) DJ events. We both collect rare rhythm & blues, rockabilly, surf, garage and soul 45's and LP's and have been extremely successful with gigs all over the country. You can check our myspace page for pictures, flyers, a bio and even a live mix! Just go to myspace.com/sonicchicken2

Any help in letting us know where to find a good spot for a party would be greatly appreciated. We don't know the area at all.

I can be reached at dj_bazooka_joe at yahoo dot com

Tim Shingara is on a distinguished road
The Raven is located on rt 441 about two miles East of Eisenhower Blvd red light. It was purchased by a friend of mine and is now a mobile radio shop (CSS). I spent many weekends there in the 60's. It is weird when I visit Carl and walk thru the drawbridge into the radio showroom and receptionist area.By the way, Jersey mike is a great club contact…and I have one of the best 40-50-60’s collection in the area, all cataloged and in mp3 format….Tim Shingara
