I am an American Sign Language Interpreter and wil be moving to Erie in July 2008. I am hoping that there will be some work for me there, but I haven't been able to find any information on the subject. Will I be able to find enough work in Erie or will I have to commute to the bigger cities?Does anyone have any insight?

Contact the LIU for that area. In PA, special populations (for public schools) are serviced by the county or regional Lincoln Intermediate Units. They are all over the state and labeled with numbers. Example: LIU12 services York, Adams and Franklin Counties. They would be the best place to start. If you got into a school system, you would pick up work from the families and cases that were assigned to you...an inroad to hospitals, churches etc.
