Are the schools better than what? Or should I say, is the schools better than what?

How are the neighborhoods.........Well, just like any other city there are lower class and middle class neighborhoods. I've lived in Erie all my life, and now living in Pittsburgh, Erie's so called "bad areas" have nothing on Pittsburgh or Philadelphia's. The economy is bad considering it's the fourth largest city in PA. Many large companies have left over the past five years. Crime will be much lower than what is experieneced in Philadelphia.

Crime is lower, the pace is much slower, the lower cost of living (downright cheap) will make you swoon with relief. Jobs may be hard to come by, depending on what you do for a living.

Ever consider the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area? We were just ranked as being the 4th most affordable housing market and the 59th-safest metropolitan area. Our population is growing again, and new career opportunities continue to spring up.
