Default Morgantown PA Interchange

Does anyone know if the Morgantown interchange on the PA turnpike is poised for a lot of growth? I've heard some people use the nickname "queen of prussia" since some think it has growth potential to be the next King of Prussia.

I was just wondering if people who live around there notice any changes? Or if the town/township is anti-development?

There is a large development planned for the area. Actually, by Pennsylvania standards, this is huge. It's planned as a new borough of around 13,000 or so units. Check out www.bryneyre.com. It's a neat plan, and I think there's lots of support for it, though there are some anti-Bryn Eyre forces out there, which is expected. We'll see what happens. They're promoting it as a smart growth development with a town center and all that, but to me Queen of Prussia seems more fitting because it will likely attract white collar people working in places like KOP, Exton, etc. looking for a less congested, more affordable, brand new area.

What amazes me is that this development is over an old iron mine that needs to be cleaned up as well as being right next to a landfill dump. The area is( or was) beautiful, being part of the Hopewell area Forest. Plus it's right on the edge of Lancaster county farmland and only about 15 minutes from Reading. So it is an amazing location well suited for upscale living but.... the landfill, the environmental issues from the iron mine, I can't see how that makes it seem desirable to the people from Philly, Bucks, Montgomery and Jersey who are appaently eager to move there anyway.

That area is sprawling out-of-control like most of S.E. PA
The main intersections in Morgantown are a disaster on saturdays
or during rush hour.
Like anywhere else on the East Coast except Vermont and Maine,
developers own and run PA. Local officials only exist to take money
and change zoning for them.

Wow, the new town looks pretty interesting. Anyone know when construction is supposed to begin and the timetable? Is there a design map of the town available anywhere?
