Looking to cut the cable cord. Anyone in central/south Berks pulling over the air HD with a home antenna? How's the quality? Specifically the local majors - 3, 6, 10, Fox as I have Netflix, Hulu, etc on a Roku for everything else. Shoot me a DM and tell me about your setup too if you'd like.

Antenna in attic, roku with Amazon & Hulu. (and bunch of free Roku channels). Google ChromeCast for PC brodcast to TV.

With digital you either get reception of the full quality being broadcast or you don't, there is no in between.
Generally speaking antenna HD compared to cable or satellite is superior.
You don't need any specific antenna, an "HD" antenna is a marketing gimmick. If you have a 20 year old antenna and you get all the channels that's the best it's going to get. The better antennas can help with poor reception. Be sure to research them.

I have friends who live in Boyertown and they get all the major channels - 3, 6, 10, 29, 17, 69, 39 - plus some random others. They don't have an HDTV so I can't speak about that, but they have an antenna mounted in their attic.

I live in the Douglassville area and for 30 years I just used a regular antenna attached to the chimney because Service Electric cable didn't come out this way. I got the regulars: CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, Fox and a couple more snowy ones. About 10 years ago we got Direct TV - (then the next year the cable was run back our road, but I stuck with Direct TV). There aren't a LOT of channels I get that I'd miss if I got back to a regular antenna.
