Also, it looks like the area is growing very quickly with new housing construction and with new businesses. I guess the power plant has not caused too much concern?

Thanks,

I'm not directly in that area, but Meetup.com groups are pretty successful out here. I'm in an active one and there is always something to do. There is a Gilbertsville SAHM mom one with 27 members - The Gilbertsville Stay At Home Moms Meetup Group (Gilbertsville, PA) - Meetup.com (http://sahm.meetup.com/2214/?gj=sj17 - broken link). MOPS is pretty big in this area too if you don't mind church related groups. We moved into our house 2 weeks before my first was born, and making new friends was like dating all over again I love the Philly area - I am not a "native" but have found people to be very friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely!!

We lived in Limerick Township (Royersford) for two years and during that time my husband commuted daily into Philly - it was horrible!

He left no later than 6:15 a.m. every day and although the morning commute at that time wasn't that bad, coming home was impossible - no matter what time he left the city.

I really liked the Limerick area, but found that many of the moms worked and were not that into meeting new people. The Spring Valley YMCA was a god send for me with the kids - it's the fanciest Y I'd ever seen.

We are checking out the area around the power plant in Limerick where there may be a future job opportunity. We like a small town with a walkable downtown area. We would need good schools and close to shopping. We really don't like a hectic commute to work. Any ideas of which towns would be best for us in the Limerick Pa area?

Check out Phoenixville. Very cute. Very walkable. Limerick is just over yonder but you don't see the towers. Good schools.
