I know how other people feel in this town because I was there for 20 yrs and I have family there, and we know almost everyone in the town. My family has been there for 60 + yrs. yes there are sadly to say racists in my own family, especially the older generations...but it does still go on there a lot more prominently then larger cities.
there are very black families or any other races there.
I didnt have a problem with race in school because there were not any other races in my entire high school. I wanted my kids to grow up in a diverse environment, not surrounded by hate and lies. so we left and wont be going back.
there is also more of a drug problem now then there used to be, although its nothing like the cities...
The OP asked if they would be accepted there, and for the sake of their kids, I was honest. the majority of people do feel that way I am describing.
