No it's not hard to find. I believe it has been officially delisted as a town with the postcode removed. There is not a whole lot to see except streets without houses on them and everything overgrown. I've heard a lot of issues with sinkholes and such and it's probably not wise to walk around.

Saw a tv special on this town not too long ago. It is actually still inhabited, very very small population though, and they even have a mayor

I was going to take pictures but I'm just not sure if I should go (It's about forty minutes from me).
People do visit, they do walk around, and they do take pictures. However I would strongly recommend against doing this at night, as you don't know if you'll stumble into a sinkhole you can't see and be burned alive. Do it during the day.

Edit: If you go to YouTube there are plenty of videos of Centralia, PA

If anyone is interested there is a book of many photos of Centralia. Most of the images depict the town when there was town with a sizable population back in the 70s and prior. It is well written and very interesting. The book is by Arcadia and is part of the Images of America series. The title is Centralia.

If anybody has actual directions to the center of the "town", I'd like to know. Is the block on this map it?

I believe that Google is correct. Google earth should have some interesting images of the "town" too.

Either Route 54 or Route 61 will take you there. We usually go to Mount Carmel and follow Route 61, or up the hill from Ashland. There really is no "center of town".
