Hello!

My husband and I started to research and get to know Sinking Spring as our new relocation in the near future. We have many concerns and wanted to find a way to get help answering our questions.

I hope that some of you could help us.

We are from NYC looking to move to Sinking Spring PA. We have seen a few homes and fell in love with the town. However, school system is our biggest concern.

We are looking for a private or public school that have great programs for special needs kids. I don't know if anyone knows but is Sinking Spring high rated schools great schools for special needs children?

Thanks in advance for your responses.!!

The NYC2PA family.

Sinking Spring schools are part of the Wilson School District, a suburb of Reading.

You'll find many of your answers here. I would suggest contacting the Pupil Personnel Services or Special Education offices to see what services you need or are offered for your child. In general PA schools are very IEP compliant. If they don't offer the services withing the school district, they will be offered and covered by the IU district that services that area.

You fell in love with SS? Hmmmm. Coming from NYC I guess it's all about perception. It's not a bad town, just nothing special and has seen better days, like a lot of places I s'pose. Admittedly I'm not in love with anyplace Berks right now - born and raised here and will be departing as soon as life allows.

Wilson is an above avg SD and imho is 2nd best in Berks County. I know nothing about their special needs programs however.

Good luck. Post back as you move along in your quest....

Thank you Iconic11,

You right most New Yorkers are always looking for more peaceful places to live in, specially to raise a family. NY city is a very stressful city, always running around.

We are now in the process of buying a home going through the paper work which is a headache. We also looking for a real state attorney.

Will update you guys as we move in...

Regards,
