All areas are aging as we are older as a nation. Dubois is a regional hub for health care in a nine county area. Transitional as in younger couples stay a couple years and then move out. I'll find out.

Yeah, you will find out. Very few young people move in and "stay a couple years". Young people move out and don't come back.

Which is the root cause of the aging of the area. There is a small in-migration of retired natives who return.

The pediatric unit at the Brookville Hospital transitioned to an Alzheimer's unit a few years ago. There are waiting lists for all of the assisted living and intensive care nursing homes. Many of the doctors are finding their practices now consist mostly of geriatrics.

All the school systems in the area are losing student population yearly.

Is is somewhat of a stretch to say that DuBois is a regional hub for health care in a nine county area. I know you are referring to the map on the Penn Highlands website https://www.phhealthcare.org/about/a...e.aspx?id=1597 They don't even show nine counties in their coverage area map, and the Penn Highlands hospitals get virtually no business from Centre County. Centre County residents would obviously go to Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College. Clarion County also has a small hospital in the town of Calrion.

Penn Highlands was formed because these hospitals were losing money and fighting to stay open.

And the township of North Versailles near McKeesport is pronounced locally as Ver-sales.

I like the area. I've only ever been to the shopping area just off Interstate 80 but its a welcome break from the monotony of that hi way and its quite a ways until you get anything remotely civilized, west or east. It puts Clearfield to shame, anyway.
