Can't speak to Macungie, but Lewisburg is a friendly and interesting place to live. Bucknell improves the quality life no matter where in town you live, and the parties are only an issue if you choose to live right in the midst of the student apartments on the edge of campus. We are about four blocks from campus, and it's no problem.

Things I like - low cost of living, interesting shops and restaurants, surprisingly varied and literate population (you would be amazed how many people here have spent big chunks of time overseas, for example, or had interesting other careers before coming here), great public schools, reasonable access to big cities, and good outdoor recreation options.

We could use a bigger, better bookstore (although word is Bucknell is putting a Barnes & Noble in on Market Street as the university bookstore) and better public transportation links in and out of town.

I wish threads like this get closure in the form of an update on what was finally decided upon, I'm always curious.

Seeing as this thread was started 18 months ago, familymom, which town did you choose?
