Looks like the new steakhouse building is really coming along! I guess the sign in front isn't kidding when it says "Coming Soon!".

Any new Rumors about anything else coming in?

Was surprised at the recent DI article about the sale of MM. A little worried as the same group owns the Columbia Mall which is a boring all around. Just curious what this sale may mean for MM.

I agree, RJ. Last time I was to the Columbia Mall, at least a fourth of it was empty. It was really sad, as it's a nicely laid out building with great potential. Hopefully MM will fare better under the same owners.

Longhorn Steakhouse is scheduled to open October 18. Their job fair is going on right now through Sunday. My son stopped in yesterday and has an interview scheduled for today. Wish him luck!

Did Longhorn stay on path for the opening on the 18th? I'll have to venture out soon and try it. Have to hit Red Robin though first for a free birthday hamburger before it expires on Friday!

Yes.........it did open on the 18th.......and it was packed all day. I plan on waiting a week or two before going. We went to Red Robin on Sunday and were very pleased with our meals......and Happy Birthday RJ

Yes, happy birthday, RJ.

Lee, I agree that we'll wait a week or so before trying Longhorn. Maybe the novelty will wear off. My husband is not patient when it comes to waiting. Rather than wait 30 minutes, he'll drive around to different restaurants and spend 30 minutes trying to find one with no wait. Makes no sense to me, but if he's happy I'm happy.

I talked to someone who ate there last Saturday when they had a 'practice' session for employees and their families. He said everything was very spicy and hot. He also told me his wife couldn't eat what she ordered so they took it home and fed it to the dog. I'm hoping that's not the case for the whole menu. He liked it but the wife didn't.

I'm still going to try it even though I don't like hot and spicy food. I'm sure they have options as an alternative to the spicy stuff.

Oh, dear! Hopefully it was just what they ordered that was spicy and hot. I know I've had steak at other Longhorns and it's been fine. Their home-made potato chips are great! Can't wait for the crowds to die down so we can try it out.

Thanks for the birthday wishes and thinking I'll wait a couple weeks to hit the steakhouse as well. I hope they do well. Hitting Red Robin tomorrow.....don't think I'll ever tire of this place. Love their burgers and always a nice atmosphere.
