Went into Value City today and it's really empty I'm sad that it's closing. I haven't shopped there as much as I once did but really will miss it.

always a bummer to loose a store...i feel for the people who were employed there and hope that they are able to find something else.

I'd guess not too much new going on and folks busy with the holidays. I miss the comments too. I haven't heard much news lately although the Red Lobster rumor pops up here and there. The only thing I miss about my old job is that I would always get news/rumors about what was coming into the area.

Did anybody hit MM on Black Friday? Was it insane? Anybody know if the Burlington Coat Factory is still slated to take over the Value City store and when it might open?

My husband and son ventured out to Lowe's on Black Friday looking for a string of lights. We got some new ones at Lowe's last year and needed one more string this year. They didn't have them so they headed over to Target.

My husband said inside Target the shoppers were everywhere, but the checkout aisles were moving quickly and smoothly. He was quite impressed, and it takes a lot for a retail store to impress my husband! Once outside, traffic funneling into the one lane out was absurd.

HINT: My husband took the service road around the back of the stores (where the trucks make deliveries) and exited out onto 11/15 with no problems whatsoever. I think he means a service road around the back of the new Giant, but I wasn't with him so I'm not sure. But if you're at MM and the traffic heading out is terrible, that's an option to consider. He said no one else was on the service road.
