Wilmington, NC to Carneys Point, NJ (Philadelphia, Bath: rent, car insurance, low crime)

Okay, here's my story:

Originally from Tampa (love big cities), relocated to Wilmington, NC for a year and I getting ready to move again to Carneys Point, NJ (work location) for a year or two.

I'm 27, male, engineer and will love to live close to Philadelphia but I will also like to minimize the daily commute to Carneys point to about 20-25 mins. I'm not looking at buying a house at the moment but will rent during my stay in this area.

I'll like live in a low crime community while keeping rent (1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom) to about $700-$850. I'm also a bit concerned about car insurance. I'm open to DE, PA or even NJ. Any suggestions?

you might want to look at pennsville, i worked in Carneys point for 7yrs and also worked in pennsville for 2yrs. I lived in delaware the whole time. Currently i live in New Jersey and just took a job in pennsylvania and will be living there in about a month. Have a house here in Barrington new jersey to get rid of in the mean time. If you choose delaware, dont forget youll have the bridge toll. Hope this helps some.

Thanks. What was the nightlife like in Pennsville? I'm actually looking for something in between Carneys Point and Philadelphia. I'll preferably like somewhere in Delaware and my commute to be 20mins to Carneys Point and 20mins to Philadelphia.

Replying to your question about nightlife in Pennsville, there is none. Of course the best place for nightlife will be Philly, some in Wilmington DE, and Deptford (Adelphia's). Philly is only about 35-40 mins from Carneys Point, so it really isn't a far drive. As far as renting a place, I would hit the Realtors in the area if you do not have the time to scan the newspapers. If you want to know the areas to search for a rental, I would suggest Pedricktown, Mannington, Woodstown NJ. These areas are all within a 10 - 20 min drive to Carneys Point, without any traffic congestion. When you get to DE, you will hit traffic most of the time. Hope this helps.
