Default thank you pennydrive,ksurovick,Evenhanded,Rtom45,kpoeppel,gu ardian333 and everyone else.

On January a good friend of mine also made the move to Erie he found him self a home for 17,500. I thought it was a good find. The neighborhood needs improving but looks promising considering that there are new homes being built up the street. I arrived to Erie a few days ago and I have been trying to find my self a good buy as well. I have seen a few that has peek my interest in the area of 25,000 to 30,000. One is on 26th street two family and the other is on 34th street. Both are reasonable. My wife loves the one on 34th. The only thing is that it’s a one family no income. The two families she likes but needs minor repairs and needs the electric box to be upgraded to 100 amps from 60amp. There are plenty of beautiful homes here in Erie.

I want to thank everyone who made this move easier on my family. I am now back from overseas and I am enjoying the area of Erie. My buddy got here before me and bought a house near east 26th street. One thing I have to say its not as bad as New York. You do see a lot of poor blocks where the homes are not kept up. One thing is there is not that many parks around those blocks and the kids are forced to play on the street. There has been lots of new constructions in the area and seems to be more going on for the next couple of years. taxes here are very cheap. homes range from 15,000 to 150,000 depending where you won't mine living in. I am thinking of buying a home for 22,000. needs some repair but not so much. basically outside cosmetics. I have heard the same from so many people in the area that jobs are hard to come by. its true. but rent here is 400 tops. thats 100 a week from a check that could be 250 a week. everything here is much cheaper but the gas. My friend found his home for 17,000. In a year or so I am hoping to be able to purchase a second home near hammot Medical center. good area much more expansive. but with the way the area is developing little by little its going up. coming from a area in brooklyn called williamsburg. my father bought the house i lived in for 5,000 it had a tree that fell into the 2nd floor. only had one livable space on the 3rd floor. I remember him working on that home for at least 5yrs. one floor at a time. I was 7 at the time the house was estimated to cost 700,000 in 2004. He made the first floor into a restaurant which pulled in a clean 900k + a year. but you know how things are in New York as quick as you make it the city will take it back with taxes and monthly inspections. that city is so corrupted that the people of NY don't even know when they are getting it up the rear any more. As far as the snow I guess I will learn how to snowboard now. I better get a P/U with 4x4. At the moment I have a front wheel car. 4cyl. you know. There are no military bases in Erie. thats was sad to find out though. such a patriotic county . If your in the military there is no Tri-Care near buy Erie. its at least 30min drive to one. The VA won't help unless you are more then 30% disable from war. it don't matter if you just got back. well I have some work to do on those things I must contact the Veteran affairs to see what I can do. well thanks again I will be checking in from time to time.
