Default Gay Friendly around New Hope?

Hello, My partner and I are thinking of relocating to New Hope or an area around there because it would be convenient for my antique business. I am in Adamstown a great deal, and it's close. Just wondering if there are any gay or lesbian people that would let us know how the enviorment is. Would like to not just be "tolerated," but actually be able to make friends, straight and gay. If anyone can help, let me know! Thank you.

I'm not gay, but I'm almost definite New Hope is actually considered one of the most gay-friendly towns in the entire Philadelphia metro area (and eastern PA).

cfknnyc, do you give discounts to your friends on antiques?

If so, you've got another friend in PA right here.

New Hope is VERY gay friendly. I would say a large percentage of it's inhabitants are gay. You guys would definately be able to make friends. It is an amazing town as well. Very walkable, artsy, and fun!

I am pretty sure that gay people put New Hope on the map, as New Hope use to be predominantly gay, but had been going staright for the past 7 years.

Many gay people have taken up roots over the last 40 years and will always be there. My partner and myself are also looking to buy a house in New Hope within hopefully 10 blocks of mainstreet.

New Hope should always be justy more then gay friendly since we put it on the map.

I cannot wait to mobe there. I work in Hopewell (11 miles) away

You'll have Noooooo problem in New Hope. It's a great town. And now that I've seen this post - I think I want to go visit again. Is that great vintage thrift shop still open? I think it's called "love" something?

Two very good friends of mine (a lovely gay couple) run a fine jewelry business in Manhattan during the week, but their weekend home is in a suburb of New Hope - Sudbury, PA. The whole AREA is extremely gay-friendly and quite welcoming of people of every stripe and rhythm. I think it has much to do with the fact that EVERYONE is there to relax, kick back, and just BREATHE that any energy they might put into hatred is quickly dissipated. It's also an upscale area as well, and at least the people have the common decency to remain free of impoliteness. I have been out socially in the area many times, and never once did I observe Gay people being treated with anything other than loving and welcoming arms.

Good luck to you in your search for a new home!
