Default Lebanon County.. need opinions of South Lebanon and surrounding area

Just wanted to get an opinion of the areas around Lebanon city. Would really like a comparison to areas near New York and New Jersey. I know that there is always more crime in every city but am really thinking of relocating from NJ to PA. Cornwall -Lebanon school district seems to have some services needed for my daughter on the Autism spectrum. Visited the Middle School. Seems they really have a lot to offer the children.

Now that I am not worried so much about the education my children will rcve.. just want to be sure what the area really is like. I know it seems there isn't too much diversity but would like to be sure that other ethnicities are welcome. Have the intention of having many friends visit and want to be sure there is a comfortable environment.

Also, I really want to know how the city is. Is it a city you can walk around during the day. Are there restaurants and nice businesses? I understand every city gets a little scary at night.

Looking at homes in South Lebanon & Cornwall. Pls let me know any info you have so I can make an informed decision..

thanks.

Default Dont go to Lebanon

IMHO avoid Lebanon. Many posts have been made in regards to Lebanon recently, and they were not positive at all. If you are coming from NJ or NY you will be best suited in Chester or Berks county.

There's nothing wrong with Lebanon county. But for a family, I wouldn't recommend Lebanon city. That's like saying don't move into Berks because of Reading. The suburbs are fine, and even some neighborhoods of Lebanon are fine. The city schools are majority hispanic I believe.

Yeah,

Drove around Lebanon. City "looks" about the same as any small city. Looks like it needs some love.

Suburbs look nice and quiet and far enough away to avoid going to city if needed. Lots of farm land as a buffer.

Thanks for the info
