Default Mt. Penn??

Hi everyone,

What is your opinion on Mt. Penn? There are several houses that are within our price range that we are scheduled to view with our Realtor this coming week. I have never been to Reading, I am much more familiar with Chester County and lower Berks.

Our realtor tells us that it is a charming community, with well kept, older homes within a good school district. Is this the case?

We currently rent in Chester County, but frankly, we are overwhelmed by the price of property! We have a 9 yr old to boot, so a good school district is mandatory for us. This naturally sends the price of housing through the roof... ugh. We cannot pay $260,000 for a tiny, old cape cod and I really want to avoid townhomes.

My husband works in West Chester and he is willing to commute. I hate the idea of a long commute, but you cannot beat the prices north of Chester County.

We have also viewed homes within the Pottstown area (Spring City, Birdsboro, Pottstown proper).

Thoughts?
Advice?

Thanks

Hi,
You should be fine in Mt. Penn. You will have very quick access to the 422 for the commute. If you are scheduled to come to the area, ask your realtor about properties in Exeter Township. A great school district, very safe and a little bit further east. Good luck on your search.

We currently have a home for sale in Mt. Penn. It is a 3bedroom 2 bath home. It is near everything. The elementary school is only about 3 blocks away. My son grew up walking to and from school. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and a finished lower level with its own private bath. The basement/ lower level could serve as a third bedroom, a family room, or a separate rental. The price is very affordable, $94, 995. The house is in great condition. Please contact us if you would like to see the property. Or you can view it online, the address is 2533 Perkiomen Ave, Mt. Penn, PA, 19606. It is available immediately and we may be willing to hear an offer. My name is Christine, 610-898-4444 or 610-781-6793. Happy house hunting!
