125th Anniversary of Thomas A. Edison’s Sunbury Experiment
Join us as we commemorate Edison’s July 4, 1883 experiment using a three-wire electrical system to successfully light the first commercial building in the world, The City Hotel, now the Hotel Edison, at Fourth & Market Streets in Sunbury. A reenactment of the experiment, the dedication of the Edison Plaza, music, food, and lots of old-fashioned family fun are on the agenda for the day.
Activities will take place on Market Street between Third and Fifth Streets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
From Harrisburg, take 11-15 North, 50 miles- turn right at RT 61
