Chambersburg area
Hello everyone,
My husband has accepted a job at Letterkenny, and we are moving to the area in less than a month. We are hoping to find a townhouse (or really nice apartment) to rent for a year before purchasing a house. Specifically, I am looking for a 3 bedroom for less than $1000/mo. We have 14 mo. old twins, and two cats.
We have never been to the area, so specific details would be appreciated.
Names of townhome "subdivisions" that I can call?
Areas to stay away from?
Opinions on Shippensburg? Or other towns within a 30 minute drive to Letterkenny?
Recommend a storage facility, please.
The local realtors have not been of much help, so any info is greatly appreciated. I'm totally stressing out about this move. Moving from GA to PA in 30 days with two kids, have to sell our house, pack, etc...and we don't have a place to live when we get there!

Take a deep breath..............You will be fine. We just moved from PA and it is beautiful. There should be plenty of rentals. You might try calling Antietam Realty at 717-765-8011. They specialize in rentals. You should have no problems finding a place for less than $1,000. We still have our house there (with a tenant) in a great neighborhood for $995. I would even say that we are a bit higher than many. You will also find that the newspaper will have plenty of rental ads. For $1,000, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a single-family home. Also try:

I was born in Shippensburg, in fact I am moving back this Summer after a 10 year absence. I love the Shipp area and I know a few good realtor's if you are interested. That are from Shipp into Chambersburg is booming right now. Stay out of Chambersburg even more so around the old NorthGate Shopping Center.

chambersburg is fine, just the area right around the main square area is a little questionable. If you avoid that 2 block radius around central chambersburg, then you will have no problems and it is a very nice area to live
