How are the taxes on property in or near Elizabethtown Pa and near Pittsburgh Pa?

Property taxes in Allegheny County are very high.

Etown is not too bad, less than $3000 altogether for an average house on an average lot ($150,000 home on less than 1/4 acre).

Allegheny County can be 4%. It depends mostly on the school taxes. If you qualify as a homesteader you get a slight discount on county taxes.

Pennsylvania taxes are low compared to other states. I've been doing my research. Penn property taxes in the areas that I've looked at are 1/3 of what they are in Texas. I'm finding Pennsylvania a very attractive state in many ways. There is natural beauty, and the cost of living is reasonable.
