Smile weekend cabin rental wanted in nice town, not touristy, near river/stream
For the record, I am capable of doing google searches but i just dont know what places just look good on the website. I am coming from eastern MD with a 4 yr old so want some where semi-close (4-5hrs) where we can do outdoorsy stuff, fish maybe. I LOVE the mountains and streams and would love a place with both. Please help! too many choices. could you suggest a town or an actual cabin rental if you know of any good ones (secluded but near a nice town).

look up caledonia state park, near chambersburg and gettysburg. there are nice steams there

French Creek State Park/Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site is very nice too. There are at least several creeks and streams running through the park as well as two lakes. They do rent cabins but they are generally booked well in advance.
