Default Downtown Norristown Help

Hi everyone! I am looking for opinions on the best streets/areas of downtown Norristown. I know that overall it is quite scary and full of crime/drugs but there has to be some parts better then others?

Specifically any thoughts on the areas around Elmwood and Simmons Park and Montgomery Hospital? Fornance, Willow, Noble and Stanbridge streets?

TIA!!!!

Hi, I live in West Norriton - right down the street from the hospital and around the close to the farm park. I really

I initially had such a bad reaction to living there from these boards and the general disdain for Norristown but honestly I like it very much and it is not as bad as people make it out to be. Just because it is black and mexican does not mean it is bad!

The school system spends as much per student as many other districts that are conventionally praised as really good. The grads I know from the district went to Penn, Drexel and Fordham... so they are doing fine.

Fornance is not a bad street.. I also like some of the litte streets of Forret by the Farm park.

I live on north of Mongtomery Hospital, and it's not a bad little neighborhood. My biggest complaint so far is my neighbor's yippy little dog.

Between Fornance and Johnson Highway is a decent little neighborhood; most homes are owner-occupied and well-maintained. Lots of people out walking/running in the mornings and evenings, reasonably friendly neighbors.

The West End isn't too bad, either. We looked at a house on Noble and found the neighborhood perfectly charming.
