what area are you speaking of? soutcentral pa is very general and covers a very broad area. you will get more responses if you know which county or city/town you are speaking of. In general, much of south central pa is rural

Renting is scarce in South-central PA. Like the other poster raid, it's mostly rural so owning is the number one option.

Maybe you can own, too. Many good properties are below $200k these days.

Maybe try York proper for rent.

I would be contacting real estate agents in the area you are considering. There are properties out there to rent, just depends on which town as to how many.

Greensprings Apartments right off of 83 (Mt. Rose exit) are very nice and include w/d, pool and clubhouse. Not sure what you are looking to spend, but they are well kept and rules for apartment living are enforced. Also good are Town & Country and York Hills off of Queen Street exit. Powder Mill Manor is the most expensive super nice. There are TONS of rentals in this area. Not only apartment complexes, but large homes converted into charming apartments in the Red Lion, Dallastown and the city itself. Many young professionals like living downtown because of the night life, but that depends on what your interests are for entertainment when you are not working.

Avoid Suburban Park apartments, Springetts Manor and the two in the 2000 block of East Market (not recalling what their names are). Not very appealing and some of the residents have tried to burn the place down, as they are placed there as a transition to society and then fall through the cracks. The local Sunday paper is the York Dispatch, and can be found on-line. If you have any other specific questions, p.m. to me.

I definitely agree with this. You may also want to look into Coventry At Waterford..Not too far from Greensprings
