I was traveling through this area last week and I love the scenery of the Bedford/Breezewood area. Can anyone tell me about it? Like jobs, schools, etc. Not sure how big either town is or any employers also. Weather? Likes and dislikes? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Well, both towns are in Bedford County and both towns have access to the PA Turnpike. Breezewood is smaller than Bedford and most of it's business is derived from turnpike travelers. Mainly Bedford County is rural with small towns that dot the landscape. The turnpike runs east/west and I-99/US 220 runs north/south. You're not that far from Cumberland, MD.
Bedford is bigger, but still a small town. It's downtown is a historic district with small shops/stores that line it's main streets. There are several large employers around Bedford: Wal-Mart distribution center, JLG Industries, Cannondale. There's factory work and some retail establishments and some restaurants. It's mostly a quiet town with lots of outdoor activities. There's Shawnee State Park for swimming, boating, and camping. Blue Knob isn't far away and they offer skiing. Weather is four season and winters can be hard and the schools are good. For more info you can check out: Bedford County PA - Visitor Information |
