Not sure you can really narrow it down to ancestry at this date. Too much time gone by. Best you take a drive around the town and see for yourself. Not a bad place, better parts, worse parts, just like any mid-size town. You should be able to determine yourself what section most appeals to you personally.
Things to do? It ain't quite the hotbed of Fayette County nightlife, not even sure if we have such a thing to begin with. But you have the basic shopping areas and a reasonable drive to Westmoreland and Rt 30. Close to the mountains and nature if that's your speed.
