Hello Skipon11,

Thanks very much for the offer to help, anything you can find time to dig into would be of great help.

I have tried to lay out on my rough working website what I know and where I have got to. To save filling this forum with "loads " of stuff please have a look. It is www.landdocs.4t.com.

I guess the one thing which would make or break the possibility that MY land is in the Listie/Geiger area would be a copy of a land ownership map in the 1840-60's, if one exists. (Like the 1976 map on my site but hopefully covering a slightly larger area.)

Look forward to hearing from you

plotnine

Somerset, PA -- I am glad one person told you about the sking! Seven Springs is the big resort up there. The huge resort has just changed hands. It had always been owned by the Dupree family (spelling?) for generations. It started with a little rope tow and burst into the gigantic resort. I am sure they have a web site. Just check it out! Sumerset is on the west side of the Allegheny Mts. and they area is just beautiful. Land around the ski places (Hidden Valley is another one) is premium. Also large tracts of land -- parks and state game lands. Loads of persons from the Pgh area have challets and cabins there for second homes.

I am glad at least one person told you about the sking. The Seven Springs mountain resort is in that area. ALso, Hidden Valley. I am sure they have web sites. It is an area on western slopes of Allegheny Mts. The land around the resorts is premium. Pittsburgers have challets and cabins there. The Seven Springs has just changed hands. The Dupree family had owned it for generations -- it is huge. It is expanding and will probably house a gambling site as well since it is becoming legal in PA. I love the area. Live in Westmoreland County. Let me know if I can help.

I am glad at least one person mentioned the sking. Seven Spring and Hidden Valley are two ski resorts in the area and I am sure that they have web sites. Seven Springs has just changed hands. The Dupree family has owned it for generations. It is huge and it is suspected that it will be getting even bigger. It is a proposed site for legal gambling. Land around the resorts is premium. Retired Steeler football players are known to have settled in that area. Only 45 minutes or so from Pgh. Land in the resort areas is premium. Congratulations. Also state parks and game lands. Let me know if I can help. I live in Westmoreland County but could be up for a ride. I'll check out the lead to the other site where you have more info. I do believe that something has happened to my messages.
