Smile Moving to PA

My family and I are planning on moving to Pa in about 2 years. We have visited on several occassion and would like to know which of the following areas would be good to move to. We have researched Hummelstown,Palmyra Paxtonia and the New Cumberland Area. We are moving from the South so any help would be appreciated.

I think all of the places you listed are pretty nice. Paxtonia is close to major shopping, dining and retail establishments. Easy access to the interstate and local state roads. It's more of a suburban type area than the other places you listed. A fine neighborhood with good schools. Hummlestown and Palmyra are neighbors of Hershey and are somewhat cheaper (tax-wise), yet still close to all the fun and excitement of Hershey. Both have everything you need, schools, apartments, shops, dentists, doctors, restaurants, dollar stores, etc. There is a Walmart in Palmyra and another in Swatara Twp, not far from Hummlestown. HTOWN also has the indian echo caverns which is like a cave thats cool to check out. New Cumberland is also nice, its the only place you mentioned that is on the west shore. It's an older town, with a 'downtown' family owned shops and such. voodoo skatepark, coakley's, a natural foods store, neato burrito, etc. All of those areas are family friendly, but as you know there is a minor drug problem here, eminating from harrisburg city. Just keep an eye on your kids and it'll be fine. It might take awile to crack open your neighbors shell's bust most people here are pretty nice. You might hear comments if you have a 'southern drawl' from a lot of people, but dont worry about it. The good thing is this area has plenty of jobs and is pretty stable. The whole south central pa region (york, lancaster, harrisburg, lebanon, carlisle) are all okay and growing. There is a lot of traffic though, these roads werent built to handle the number of cars on them. Email if you need anything else. You might also want to check out Linglestown or West Hanover Twp too.

Specifically, if you have young children Kissel Hill Elem ( Lititz ) is Phenominal!! If you children are older , say 12-17 I would check out Warwick ( Lititz ) Cedar Crest ( Cornwall) Lampeter-Strausburg ,Penn Manor and Elco .
