Default Gettysburg Transportation

I'm attending Gettysburg College this upcoming Fall, and they just changed the rules about freshman having cars on campus! I live a few hours away in NJ, and I planned on driving home for breaks and the occasional visit, as well as concerts in Baltimore/DC/Philly. It seems like my only option is a parking garage at $60 per month! Way too much to only be driving once in awhile . Do I have other transportion options in the area or near by? Bus stations, the train, anything! Thanks in advance for your insight .

here's what your college had to say
Quote:
The Harrisburg Amtrak Station is about 45 minutes from campus, and Penn Station in Baltimore is about 75 minutes away. The College provides shuttle service to campus from many of the major transportation hubs in the area. Call the admissions office 717-337-6100 to make arrangements.

the train is your best bet to get to Philly. Since you're a college student, I'm guessing you don't have tons of money to a train all the way to NYC is probably too much. once in Philly, you can change trains to SEPTA or walk across the street to Boltbus for buses to NYC.
Additionally, you can catch the train west to Pitt at Harrisburg or connect to other buses

Nope. There is no transportation in Gettysburg. No buses. No trains. No cabs. Unfortunately. And yes, the $60 a month parking garage is your only other option if you do not live in a house that has it's own driveway/garage. Because, you also can't park on the streets of Gettysburg between the hours of 2am and 6am or you will be towed.
