Bristol may have had its day, but sadly it's long over. There is a historic section in the boro that has been fixed up (near King George Inn) but it still has a little ways to go. The Kinge George, however, is a very good restaurant, and has a very long & interesting history. You park right ont he waterfront, and your car is reasonably safe.

But the rest of the town, not so good. Anything down around Route 13 is just plain scary. Unless you like sleazy motels, pawn shops and check-cashing places. You might find a hooker with almost all of her teeth, and you might find some good crack if that's your thing...

The schools are not very good. The people I've known who live in the "nicer" sections try to send their kids to Catholic schools even when they're not Catholic. There are some families who have been there a long time, and they're holding out while their friends have fled.

In my opinion, the best thing the town has going for it is the old song "The Bristol Stomp."

I'm probably sounding like a snob, so be sure to see what others say. But decide for yourself after visiting the area.

Bristol is awful in my opinion. YOu would be much better off in Yardley, Newtown, Doylestown, Langhore...I really don't like Bristol or Penndel

I completely agree with the previous posters. Bristol is not a pleasant place to live or visit. You'd be better off investigating Bensalem.

Thank you very much. My husband might get a transfer to work in Bristol. Are there any nice within 30-45 minutes away to raise children? We have 2 girls, 12 & 2 yrs old.

Lots of nice towns within that time...Newtown, Yardley are wonderful, good school districts and about 20 minutes from Bristol.
