We are coming in from NY (3 adults, 2 children) and are looking for a rental in a nice community with a pool and lake (beach) that isn't very far from main roads, etc. Although at extreme locations, we've been looking into Towanseng Trails and Saw Creek Estates. There isn't much of a price difference in terms of rental prices. Can anyone offer any advice as to which community is better? We don't want to feel like every home is miles and miles away and yet don't want to be around rowdy folks either. Distance to camelbeach and the outlets are considerations as well. Are those about 20 minutes from either location? Last thing, we are food shopping in the poconos so a great supermarket nearby is also key. One thing we've had trouble finding is air conditioning.....are fans really enough? Help!!! we have to make a decision soon.

Thx in advance!

Pick Towamensing Trails...........
The homes are not miles and miles away from each other yet nestled in the woods.
Camelbeach and the Outlets are closer from that location then from Saw Creek.

In Aug. fans might be enough, although right now we are in the high 90's this week and humid. I wonder if you could perhaps bring a portable AC with you, just in case.

There are two grocery stores......Mr Z's and ShopRite.......They are a good 15/20 from you. Maybe you could shop before you arrive there........so it isn't an additional trip.
Sawcreek is further out......and might be a bit less then what you expressed you want. It would be quite a trek to the Outlets and Waterpark from that location.

Towamensing has a beautiful lake........and a nice pool and a couple of beach areas.
Have a great time!

Towamensing Trails is a good spot! Saw Creek is way out of the way. I am also a big fan of Arrowhead Lakes, www.arrowheadca.org (I just blogged about arrowhead on my city data blog.) Locust Lakes is nice, too. You don't have to go all the way to Brodheadsville to shop if you don't want to go that far. All of these locations are close to Ahart's market in Blakeslee, RT 940, Rt 115, Rt 80 & the turnpike isn't that far either. But if you are here in late August, the Brodheadsville area will be having the West End Fair. The 87th Annual West End Fair
