Default Moving to Eastern PA from FL

We are considering a move from FL to Eastern PA. We have two children entering middle school and are most concerned about good public schools. One child has mild special needs and will need a special ed program.
Also, would like a home with some land, possibly older, in the mid 400's range. We love Doylestown, but would consider surrounding areas as well as Newtown.

Any advice on schools, neighborhoods, etc???

While Newtown and Doylestown are both great areas with great schools, just to throw another idea in (granted not knowing where you need to commute to for work), I would seriously consider Villanova. Lower Merion is an excellant school district and (if memory serves from an old Philly Inquirer article) I belieive they spend the most money per child in the state. It;s a great area with a close proximity to the city yet really removed from the negative aspects.

you could say that about any town on the main line...or most of the towns along the old reading main (ie jenkintown). villanova is much less cutesy than doylestown or even nearby wayne.

Villanova is very expensive. There are less expensive, but very nice areas just west in Chester County.
