Smile Closest Towns to NYC looking to move to PA

My husband and I are looking into areas in PA to move within a year. We have 3 small children and good schools are at the top of our list and of course a nice safe area as well. Are there any suggestions for the best towns that are the closest to NYC he has to commute to work. Appreciate any help. Does anyone have any comments on Easton County, bethlehem area.

telisha, I suggest that you read through a few pages on the Lehigh Valley forum and you'll get your answers. You could re-post your questions there for input from locals once you know more about the area.

First off, the numbers from Search for Pennsylvania public schools. or SchoolMatters - Home (http://www.schoolmatters.com/ - broken link) will show you the stats. Generally, the schools outside the cities are better and the further west you go, the worse the commute. No, there is no public rail system.

If you wish to take public transportation, Bucks County is an option. Lots of people in Yardley/Newtown/Lower Makefield commute via NJ Transit to NYC daily.
