In Berks, Lancaster, & York counties, is kindergarten all day or half a day? Friends of ours live in Lewisburg(Union county), & starting this year, kindergarten is all day. Is that statewide in PA or just for certain counties. Also, in middle school, do the kids get lockers? If they do, do you rent them for the year. Is registration yearly also? Every year in Pasco County, Fl., you have to go to the school to get class & bus schedules & register your kids. Thanks.

It depends on where you go for kindergarden...my niece went to a private school and it was all day. As for lockers, I've never heard of having to 'rent' your locker. Most places (at least in York) assign lockers to the kids. Hope that helps.

It really depends on the school district. the move to all day school for kindergärtners is growing. Look on schoolSchoolMatters - Home
Maybe you can find answers there. I never even heard of locker rental by the way....

Kindergarten is all day in some districts, half day in others. School districts here run independently from each other, there is no "county" system. Some districts even offer you the choice of all or 1/2 day. Lockers are assigned in most middle schools, usually grade 6-8. They are often grouped together to be near their first period classes or alphabetically. Once you are registered in a district and have attended school through the end of the year, you are assumed to be a permanent resident and do not have to re-register every year. Your child would be assigned teachers/classes accordingly, given a bus route/pickup time. The only way you can be removed is by being found as not residing in the district, or if you make a request to have your child's records sent to another district. Assignments for classes and schedules are sent home or posted to an accessible website.

well my sister is going to the 8th grade and everyone was telling her that if she didnt go to school on the first day that she was going to have to re-register but thats not true. it really depends on the school district so if have questions about registering your child its best you call your childs school.
