relocating to PA
Hey, i am looking to relocate to PA from vermont with my family. I am looking for a small, safe, country town. I am overwehlmed as i have been driving around PA for a week and just can't find that town. I would like to find that rolling hill area ...The cities are too big for us and the mountains are too big up north.
PLEASE HELP!
also looking to find a good public, safe high school in this town!

What part of PA do you prefer? How close to a city do you want to be?

I notice the different regions in PA, I am looking for the rolling hill country. The distance to a city doesn't matter as long as it is an extremly safe area!
thanks!

How small do you want? If you want a small town of about 7,000 residents, then I would suggest lovely victorian Bellefonte. Bellefonte is the county seat of Centre County, and is only 15 minutes away from State College, which has a borough population of about 40,000 and is home to Penn State. It's in a valley, with mountains surrounding it. Bellefonte is a rural town, yet offers good schools, even a newly renovated High School. Here are some helpful links:

Bellefonte Area School District, 318 North Allegheny Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823
Good luck!

If you're interested in western PA, look at some of the small towns around Erie. Girard and Waterford in particular come to mind.

How about Saylorsburg? Rolling hills, (we even have a farm named Rolling Hills in the area) It is in the Pocono Region, but down off the mountain. Closest cities are Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg, Allentown & Wilkes-Barre. It is in the Pleasant Valley school district, and we have good schools. There are many similar towns around Saylorsburg, too, such as Brodheadsville, Effort, Kresgeville to name a few. Good Luck!
