Now comparing Johnstown to Asheville is more like it I love Asheville, been there several times, and imo I feel Johnstown has the potential to reach that level.

I think many of the old people contaminating the place with their soiled minds need to die off for any start to making the place more liberal and have more outsiders come in to help change it. I seen some people who live out there who are open minded, but not enough for the whole city to go round in the yr 2008.

Liberal people tend to live on the coastal cities. Pa's "blue collar conservitave" thinking is intrenched in it's roots. It ain't changing for YOU, or anybody else. Johnstown is too isolated to ever attract a mass influx of people. The things you say about Johnstown, are the same things people say about Pittsburgh. Yet they keep loosing population yearly too. How long can someone kept saying that until it ain't believable anymmore?

Probably one of the thousands of construction owners around Johnstown looking for work. Why not tell us about all the tech jobs that will be coming, lol!!!!!!!

It may be a tiny % of liberal people but its still a start.
Then again, Johnstown keeps going down the drain because nobody is picking it up like I tried doing. It has to be thousands of people who believe this or else it is just not believable and holds little weight which it seems to each and every day. Its just a shame because the town does have nice nature and neighborhoods around it that could easily be the staple to any revitalization. The winters tho, that too can be a hamper.
Many people also try to leave the bad winters in places like that along with the economy. I attempted to post something good to think about but it doesnt look like its gonna work.

It was a nice attempt. But anyone who has lived in Pa. or spent alot of time there, will know the differences between Pa (and it's people) and the liberal cities and states around the country. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I know the way OUR people think there. And what draws people to certain areas. If Pittsburgh can't do it, Johnstown sure won't be able to.

I know many people leave Pittsburgh but I thought it was an accepting city to differences to a degree. Maybe not enough places will get full to the point you got Johnstown to pick from and some other crap out there now so maybe no chance of it ever being brought up. Thats why I mention it because so many other cities had rebirths and many spots are being brought up but like I was saying too, bad winters have a big part in it.

I agree. I think brew pubs are phony and pretentious and I do not visit them. Usually you are in a crowded room full of jabronies with Eagles or Steelers gear who yell and scream, while playing annoying rock like Hinder on the jukebox. I prefer bars that have Miller, Yuengling, and Pabst on the tap with a few higher level beers like Sam Adams or Guiness in a bottle available if Im in the mood to splurge.
