Reckless Driving conviction in PA. Insurance help please!
Does anyone have any clue what I am looking as far as insurance rates with a Reckless Driving conviction in PA? I won't go into details until after my appeal is over b/c the bastards love to read internet forums. I have 1 other speeding ticket for 85mph in a 55mph zone. I am 21 years old and drive a 2004 BMW M3. I have perfect credit with an average income of 46,000 a year since I was 18. I heard credit scores have a lot to do with insurance?? Basically I am trying to find out if my insurance company is going to DROP ME or move me to HIGH RISK insurance after they find out? Luckily I paid my whole policy up front for the year about 2 months prior to this, so they probably won't run it until next year. That buys me some time. I've never had an accident either and have been licensed since I was 16. So all in all, what am I looking at here, an instant cancellation when they find out or will my insurance be $6000/year or what? If someone can help me I'd really appreciate it. Also, its a 6 month suspension, but im gonna drive anyway. Have to for work and school. I'm just going to chill.

Real responsible there, huh? You are going to drive anyway? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! I drive through PA often with my two toddlers and it scares me to death to know there are people like you on the roads-those who speed and those who disregard the law. GROW UP. I wish I knew who you were so I could forward your intent on.

With that attitude they should put you in jail. Get off the road before you kill someone.

You are out on our roads, endangering all of us, our children, families, friends, EVERYONE, and you are asking for help with your insurance woes? Dude, grow up and get over yourself. With your driving habits and attitude, it's just a matter of time until you are involved in a serious accident, and I can only hope that YOU will be the one to suffer possibly serious life-changing consequences, not some innocent, law-respecting adult or their children. If you're looking for a way out of your own stupidity, you need to look somewhere other that city-data. I'm sure there are forums out there for people like you. Just google "disrespectful idiots".

If you read the fineprint on your policy you probably will find that the insurance company reserves the right to increase your rates or drop you if you commit an illegal act while driving. If you get caught driving with a suspended license you could do time in jail, depending on the circumstances. In the meantime, do the smart thing and consider public transportation or catching a ride with a co-worker. You're a young guy; get it together and change course.

^it is 30 days in jail if driving on a suspended licence due to alcohol related offenses (mainly dui).
If it is driving on suspended licence due to speeding it is a few more months without it, a fine, but no jail.
I don't know about reckless driving though.
But the OP should chill.

I stand corrected. Regardless, the OP should just take his punishment and learn from his mistakes before an innocent person gets hurt.

Motor Vehicle Department automatically reports convictions, paid citations, etc to the insurance company listed on your MVA records. I am grateful for this so that your insurance company can take immediate action. No matter what your credit score is, it will not counteract your reckless driving behavior. So you drive a nice car and make OK money for your age, the more expensive the car you drive the higher the cost of damage to your vehicle in an accident so with your driving habits you should be paying top premiums. Your driving habits are the reason all insurance is so high. The fear of losing your license if you drive while suspended hasn't even deterred you from hitting the road so it seems no lesson was learned.
