Default New Buffalo Restaurant , north of Harrisburg?

Just wondering if anybody has heard exactly why the New Buffalo restaurant is closed down? I saw signs saying it is soon to open under new management with the word "new" emphasized.

That restaurant has changed hands a number of times recently and it has been for sale for quite some time. Apparently either the present owners got new managers or the sale finally went through. I haven't eaten there in a LONG time - 70s maybe? - so can't comment on food, cleanliness, clientele or anything like that.

I have been in there several times since they changed hands, a person by the name of George and his wife owned it for many years, service and food was always good, prices fair. They sold it a year or two ago, and since everything has gone down hill, I talked to an employee a few times, and they told me truckers were complaining about the prices, I know all restuarants prices went up, but New Buffalos really went up. Alot of times you go in on a Friday night, ask for their specials, this would be about six in the evening, and were told they were out of the specials, to pick someting else off the menu, only to be told they were out of that also. Sorry to rant on, but just curious as to when they are going to reopen, and what really is going on.

Now that I read what you've written it seems to me that the new owners were from up around my way, maybe Sunbury - and I was thinking what a long drive that would be to work every day. It sounds like maybe they tried to "get rich quick" and raised the prices too much. I know I often saw trucks there and I've heard that you can tell where the good food is by where the truckers stop to eat.

I'm thinking now also that maybe I heard something about some sort of "adult" venue going in there? But I'm really scratching at the back recesses of my mind on that, so it could be somewhere else along Route 15 and I could be all wrong on that.

dawne, they have signs in the windows saying opening soon under new management, with the new part underlined. I was going to see about getting my 17 year old in there this past summer, thank goodness he got on at Annie's, and then later on at Miller's Market here in town. (Liverpool).
